Maintenance Supervisor - CNC Machining & Aerospace Manufacturing
Lead a High-Performing Maintenance Team in a Precision Aerospace Environment
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with a strong background supporting 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centers and lathes in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for driving equipment reliability, developing maintenance technicians, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Aerospace manufacturing experience is required.
The strongest candidates will come from aerospace or highly related precision machining environments and have direct experience maintaining equipment from manufacturers such as:
Schedule & Compensation
- Pay: $40-$45/hour (may be negotiable for highly skilled candidates)
- Annual Incentive Program: Target payout of 10% of annual compensation, with historical payouts reaching as high as 25%
- Vacation: Negotiable based on experience, with employees eligible for more than 4 weeks
- Shift: 1st Shift
- Flexible scheduling options:
- Five 8-hour days
- Four 10-hour days
- Four 9-hour days plus one 5-hour day
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians
- Provide hands-on guidance during complex troubleshooting and repair activities
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Partner with operations leadership to achieve production and reliability goals
- Promote collaboration across Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams
CNC Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
- Ensure maximum uptime and reliability of CNC machining centers and lathes
- Prioritize maintenance activities to support production schedules
- Analyze equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Facility & Infrastructure Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance of HVAC, electrical, compressed air, plumbing, and facility utility systems
- Coordinate facility repairs, upgrades, and capital improvement projects
- Work with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to complete projects safely and efficiently
- Conduct facility inspections and proactively address maintenance concerns
Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives that improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S/6S, and other continuous improvement efforts
- Reduce downtime through root cause analysis and corrective action implementatio
Required
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Aerospace manufacturing experience required
- Extensive experience maintaining and troubleshooting:
- 3-axis CNC machining centers
- 5-axis CNC machining centers
- CNC lathes
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
- Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams
Preferred
- Technical degree, vocational training, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S/6S, TPM, and reliability-centered maintenance programs
- Experience supporting facility infrastructure and capital projects
